(Rac)-Benpyrine is the racemate form of Benpyrine. Benpyrine could directly bind to TNF-α and block TNF-α-trigged signaling activation in vitro and in vivo. Administration of benpyrine by gavage significantly relieved the symptoms of collagen-induced arthritis and imiquimod-induced psoriasiform inflammation in mice.

(Rac)-Benpyrine 生物活性

描述 (Rac)-Benpyrine, the racemic form of Benpyrine, is a potent and orally active TNF-α inhibitor. It holds potential for research into TNF-α mediated inflammatory and autoimmune diseases[1].
体内研究

(Rac)-Benpyrine treatment (25-50 mg/kg; oral gavage; daily; for 3 weeks; Kunming mice) significantly reduces the levels of inflammatory cytokines IFN-γ, IL-1β, and IL-6 in the blood serum, while markedly increasing the anti-inflammatory factor IL-10. Additionally, it noticeably reduces the swelling of the arthritic foot and does not significantly decrease the weight gain associated with arthritis[1].
体外研究

(Rac)-Benpyrine treatment (5-10 μM; 24 hours) suppresses the expression of the TNF-α downstream pathway protein NF-κB in the nucleus of RAW264.7 macrophages[1].
