9-Aminoacridine 生物活性

描述 9-Aminoacridine, a fluorescent probe, is a pH indicator for quantitatively assessing transmembrane pH gradients, particularly in acidic environments. It possesses antimicrobial properties, effectively disrupting the proton motive force in K. pneumoniae by interacting with bacterial DNA. Additionally, 9-Aminoacridine acts as an inhibitor of HIV-1, blocking HIV LTR transcription in a manner highly dependent on the position and presence of its amino moiety. It also inhibits virus replication in HIV-1 infected cell lines and enhances the effectiveness of Rifampin in treating multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae infections[1].[2].[3].
体内研究

When administered subcutaneously at a dose of 15 mg/kg in a single dose, 9-Aminoacridine significantly reduces the abscess area in a mouse model of skin subcutaneous abscess[2].

体外研究

9-Aminoacridine demonstrates significant antimicrobial activity against K. pneumoniae, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) ranging from 8 to 16 μg/mL[1].

In cytotoxicity assays, 9-Aminoacridine (0-64 μg/mL) shows moderate toxicity to both normal (LO2, HK2, HMC3) and tumor (HepG2, 786-O, U251) human cell lines. However, its toxicity is further reduced when used as a Rifampin (RIF) adjuvant, allowing for lower dosages[1].
