Streptomycin sulfate 生物活性

描述 Streptomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis. Most patients with bilateral Meniere's disease treated with streptomycin sulfate titration therapy and followed over the long term have either improvement or relief of their disabling vertigo[3]. Animal experiments have demonstrated severe damage to the vestibular hair cells after streptomycin treatment. The morphologic changes indicated that streptomycin damaged the cytoplasmic granules and the plasma membrane infoldings of the dark cells[4]. A case of community-acquired endocarditis caused by Enterococcus (Streptococcus) faecalis with high-level resistance to gentamicin sulfate but not to streptomycin sulfate is described[5].
