描述 | Metastasis Associated Lung Adenocarcinoma Transcript 1 (MALAT1) is a nuclear enriched long non-coding RNA that is generally overexpressed in patient tumors and metastases[1]. MALAT1 played a role in regulating cancer process by functioning as a competing endogenous RNA. Silencing MALAT1 could effectively decrease the expression level of SOX9, thus suppress cell viability and metastasis. Down-regulated MALAT1 could induce resistance of G1 phase in cell cycle, and facilitation of colorectal cancer cell apoptosis.[2]. MALAT1-IN-1 is a potent and highly specific MALAT1 inhibitor. MALAT1-IN-1 modulated Malat1 downstream genes in a dose-dependent manner without affecting the expression of nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1 (Neat1).[3]. MALAT1-IN-1 has effectively prevented the pathological remodeling of the aortic wall induced by Angll infusion in the model of AAA mice experiment. The inhibitor can protect the aorta based on three aspects, prevention, inhibition, and reversal of AAA, and it has significant clinical value in therapeutic strategies for AAA[4]. |
