Propylthiouracil 生物活性

描述 Propylthiouracil, known as 6-n-Propylthiouracil and classified as a thioamide antithyroid drug, acts as an inhibitor of thyroperoxidase and DIO1, suitable for use in research related to Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism [1].
体内研究

By feeding adult C57BL/6J and wild-derived WSB/EiJ male mice an iodine-deficient diet with 0.15% Propylthiouracil supplementation, Propylthiouracil triggers hypothyroidism [1].
体外研究

In U-937 cells, Propylthiouracil (5.5-330 μg/mL; 24 h) leads to dose-dependent growth inhibition and cytotoxic effects [2].
