Escitalopram oxalate 生物活性

描述 Escitalopram oxalate, the S-enantiomer of racemic citalopram, is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) with a Ki of 0.89 nM. It has approximately 30 times higher binding affinity than its R(-)-enantiomer and exhibits selectivity over both the dopamine and norepinephrine transporters. Escitalopram oxalate is used in the study of major depression[1][2].
体内研究

Escitalopram, administered at 10 mg/kg intraperitoneally daily for 28 days, mitigates cognitive deficits and selectively reduces the accumulation of phosphorylated tau in stressed rats[3].

Chronic intake of Escitalopram through drinking water for four months consistently lowers plaque formation by 28% and 34% at daily dosages of 2.5 mg and 5 mg, respectively[4].
