描述 | Sucrose, also known as D-(+)-Saccharose, is a disaccharide composed of the monosaccharides glucose and fructose. It is utilized in various animal models to study metabolic diseases, obesity, dietary preferences, diabetes, and more[1]. |
体内研究 | In experimental studies, comparing high-energy (HE) feeding with chow feeding reveals a decreased preference for sucrose solutions across different concentrations in both obesity-prone (OP) and obesity-resistant (OR) rats. Specifically, OP rats show a lower preference for 0.3 M and 1.0 M sucrose solutions during HE-feeding compared to when they are chow-fed (P=0.046 and P=0.012, respectively). Similarly, OR rats demonstrate reduced preferences for 0.01 M, 0.03 M, and 1.0 M sucrose solutions under HE-feeding conditions compared to chow-feeding (P<0.0001, P=0.043, and P=0.013, respectively). Moreover, chow-fed OP rats consume significantly less of the 0.03 M and 0.1 M sucrose solutions compared to OR rats (P<0.0001 for both), while HE-fed OP rats consume less of a 0.1 M sucrose solution only when compared to HE-fed OR rats (P<0.05)[1]. |
