描述 2-Phenylethanol (Phenethyl alcohol) is an aromatic alcohol recognized for its rose-like odor. It is utilized as a flavor and fragrance compound and acts as a preservative and anti-microbial agent. 2-Phenylethanol also exhibits antityrosinase and antimicrobial properties[1].[2].
体内研究

When inhaled at a concentration of 5%, 2-Phenylethanol increases anxiety-like behavior and reduces depression-like behavior in mice[3].
体外研究

Additionally, 2-Phenylethanol is included as an additive in cigarettes and as a preservative in soaps[1].

2-Phenylethanol demonstrates a growth-inhibitory effect on Gram-negative microorganisms[1].
