描述 10-Undecen-1-ol is a chemical substances. By pre-treating with equimolar amounts of alkylaluminums, functional alpha-olefin 10-undecen-1-ol can be efficiently incorporated into polyethylene chains. 10-Undecen-1-ol incorporation can easily reach 15.8 mol% under the mild conditions. When compared with VCl3(THF)3 or rac-Et[Ind]2ZrCl2, these vanadium(III) complexes exhibited higher activities towards the copolymerization, and can incorporate more 10-undecen-1-ol into polymer chains under the similar conditions[3]. Direct UV photochemical functionalization of H-terminated Si(111) with bifunctional 10-undecen-1-ol was achieved with selective attachment via its vinyl end, resulting in the formation of a compact monolayer with free terminal alcohol groups. This is due to the faster radical propagation mechanism in hydrosilylation with alkene compared to the nucleophilic attack mechanism of alcohol, which is impeded by intermolecular hydrogen bonding present at room temperature[4]. The polyester channels modified with 10-undecen-1-ol exhibited a dramatically high-separation efficiency compared with the conventional fused-silica capillary tubes[5].
