描述 | Cholesterol, as a kind of the oxidizable lipids, is an agent of biomembranes and plasma lipoproteinsis. In vitro studies, cholesterol could impact the function and inhibition of multidrug resistance P-glycoprotein (Pgp) in NIH 3T3 cells , through some special substrate and cell-type-specific manners. In vivo studies, it was found that dietary cholesterol could increase plasma lipoprotein concentrations in adult baboons, as well as suppress the activity of hepatic sterol 27-hydroxylase in baboons. Besides this, maternal cholesterol could also strengthen the movement of cholesterol down a concentration gradient in the placenta , lipoprotein secretion from the yolk sac (shown previously) and possibly placental NPC1L1 expression in the golden Syrian hamster. |
