生物活性
描述 Serotonin hydrochloride, the hydrochloride form of serotonin (5-HT), plays an important role in humans’ neural action and could interact with 5-HT receptor. In vitro studies, high level of serotonin could disturb the process of oligodendrocyte (OL) development, induce cell injury and inhibit myelination deficit in OL. Besides this, it was found that serotonin could also initiate a depolarizing inward current and accelerate spontaneous firing in about 80% of the lateral habenula (LHb) neurons in rat brain slices. In vivo studies, serotonin plus N(ω)-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester hydrochloride (l-NAME) could contribute to the improvement of inward remodeling processes in rat cremasteric feed arterioles (100-200 μm lumen diameter), through the activationactivate of transglutaminases and Lim kinase, as well as modulate the phosphorylation of cofilin.
