描述 | Ofloxacin (Hoe-280) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic primarily acting through the inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase. It exhibits a broad spectrum of activity against aerobic Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria in vitro, but shows limited efficacy against anaerobes[1]. Unlike many other front-line antibacterial drugs that target cell wall or protein synthesis, ofloxacin and other 4-quinolones uniquely interfere with bacterial DNA synthesis, distinguishing their mechanism of action in treating bacterial infections[2]. |
