描述 Valethamate bromide is an ester and is a potent rapidly acting anticholinergic spasmolytic and musculotropic agent which accelerates labor by improving cervical dilatio[3]. Side effects such as tachycardia, flushing of the face and dryness of mouth were noted with valethamate bromide administration. Valethamate bromide did not significantly shortened the duration of active labour in nulliparous women with a singleton pregnancy at term[4]. Both Drotaverine and Valethamate appear to significantly help cervical dilatation and augment first stage of labour[5].
