描述 | Amentoflavone is the main component of Selaginella tamariscina widely known as an oriental traditional medicinal stuff that has been known to have a variety of medicinal effects such as the induction of apoptosis, antimetastasis, and anti-inflammation. Amentoflavone could play a positive role in the inhibition of various diseases associated with autophagy and the modulation of p53[3]. Amentoflavone affects epileptogenesis and exerts neuroprotective effects by inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome and, thus, mediating the inflammatory process in PTZ(pentylenetetrazole)-induced kindling mice and LPS(lipopolysaccharide)-induced BV2 microglial cells[4]. In vivo, the tumor growth was suppressed by AF (Amentoflavone) in a dose-dependent manner. The level of MDA (malondialdehyde) in the tumor tissue was increased while the level of GSH (reduced glutathione) in tumor tissue was decreased by AF in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, the expression of LC3B, Beclin1, ATG5, ATG7 were increased, and the expression of FTH (ferritin heavy chain) were decreased by AF in a dose-dependent manner in vivo[5]. Amentoflavone inhibits HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma) progression through suppression of ERK(extracellular signal-regulated kinase )/NF-ĸB (nuclear factor-kappaB) signaling[6]. In addition, amentoflavone improves the osteogenesis of hMSCs (human mesenchymal stem cells) through the JNK and p38 MAPK pathway[7]. |
