描述 Arteannuin B, a biogenetic precursor of artemisinin found in the herb artemisia annua, is active against different bacteria and certain fungal species with potential antimalarial and antitumor activities[1]. Arteannuin B showed the highest anti-SARS-CoV-2 potential with an EC50 of 10.28 ± 1.12 μM[2]. Moreover, compatibility of artemisinin, scopoletin, arteannuin B and arteannuic acid has antimalarial effect. Compatibility of scopoletin, arteannuin B and arteannuic acid is conducive to resolving summerheat-heat[3]. The overexpression of AaHDR1 (an Artemisia annua HDR cDNA) increased contents of artemisinin, arteannuin B and other sesquiterpenes, and multiple monoterpenes[4]. All sesquiterpenes (artemisinin, dihydroartemisinin, artemisinic acid, arteannuin B) significantly reduced production of PGE2 (prostaglandin E2). Arteannuin B also inhibited production of NO (nitric oxide) and secretion of cytokines[5].
