描述 Mequinol, known as 4-Methoxyphenol, is recognized for its use in treating skin discoloration. As one of the active components derived from Mercurialis, it is mainly applied to alleviate various forms of hyperpigmentation[1]. In addition to its depigmenting properties, Mequinol serves as an antioxidant. It has been observed to have additive or synergistic effects on carcinogenesis when used alongside other phenolic antioxidants. Mequinol is also noted for promoting the production of hERα-dependent chaperones, indicating its potential estrogenic activity[1].[2].[3].
