描述 | Small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) family proteins regulate target-protein functions by post-translational modification in diverse biological signals in the cell, including DNA repair, nuclear transport, gene expression and so on. SUMO activating enzyme E (SAE) catalyzes the condensation between the SUMO C-terminal carboxylate and ATP to form a SUMO–AMP conjugate that subsequently reacts with the catalytic Cys residue of SAE to form a SUMO~SAE thioester conjugate[2]. ML-792 is a SAE inhibitor that potently and selectively blocks SAE enzyme activity and total SUMOylation, thus decreasing cancer cell proliferation[3]. |
