描述 Ginkgolide B, an important active terpenoid from Ginkgo biloba leaves, is reported to increase cell viability and decrease cell apoptosis. Ginkgolide B exerted anti-inflammatory and chondroprotective effects in LPS(lipopolysaccharide)-induced chondrocytes[3]. Ginkgolide B alleviated the Ox(oxidized)-LDL-induced inflammatory cascades and altered lipid metabolism in HUVECs by suppressing the PCSK-9(proprotein convertase subtilisin/Kexin-9) [4]. Ginkgolide B suppressed platelet and monocyte adhesion under different conditions of laminar shear stress. Moreover, ginkgolide B reduced VCAM-1 (vascular cell adhesion molecule-1), VE-cadherin and Cx43 expression in TNFα-treated HUVECs (human umbilical vein endothelial cells) under laminar shear stress[5]. Oral administration of ginkgolide B (2 mg/kg/day, p.o.) caused a significant increase in cell viability and a highly significant decrease in the numbers of both spontaneously occurring and AAPH-induced apoptoses[6]. In addition, ginkgolide B improves neurological function by promoting the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury[7].
