描述 Tropicamide is an anticholinergic and a muscarinic receptor subtype M4-preferring antagonist. Tropicamide causes a more rapid return of near vision and a lesser stinging sensation relative to cyclopentolate. And Tropicamide requires a shorter duration to obtain maximum cycloplegia, and rarely induces systemic side effects[3]. Moreover, the mixture containing 0.75% tropicamide and 2.5% phenylephrine was effective in pupil dilatation. It provided rapid and successful pupil dilatation for ophthalmoscopy, more than the alternate application of 1% tropicamide and 10% phenylephrine[4].
