描述 | The APJ is an orphan G protein-coupled receptor that resembles the angiotensin receptor. Apelin-13 is an endogenous peptide ligand for human APJ receptor with an EC50 value of 0.37nM. In CHO cells expressing the APJ receptor, treatment with apelin-13 efficiently suppressed forskolin-stimulated cAMP production. (Glp1)-Apelin-13 is a pyroglutamylated form of apelin-13, with an EC50 value of 0.3nM for the APJ receptor[1]. Intracerebroventricular microinjection of (Glp1)-Apelin-13 (20nmol, dissolved in artificial cerebrospinal fluid) significantly reduced fever in LPS-treated rats during 3-9 hours after injection. Treatment with (Glp1)-Apelin-13 at the same dose also reduced the level of circulating tumor necrosis factor-α in LPS-challenged rats[2]. |
