描述 Neuropeptide Y is one of the most potent orexigenic peptides found in the brain. It stimulates food intake with a preferential effect on carbohydrate intake[1]. CGP 71683 hydrochloride is a competitive neuropeptide Y5 receptor antagonist with a Ki of 1.2nM. Displays >1000-fold selectivity over Y1, Y2 and Y4 receptors. CGP71683 (15nM/rat, central injection, twice daily, for 72h) reduced total food intake by 32% and body mass by almost 10% in fed rats[2].
