描述 | Resazurin sodium is commonly used to measure bacterial and eukaryotic cell survival by reduction to the fluorescent product resorcinol. Following the addition of Resazurin sodium to TSBc medium for culturing F. tularensis LVS at a concentration of 44 μM, no viable bacteria could be detected at 24 hours post-inoculation. Reducing the concentration of Resazurin sodium to 4.4 μM still resulted in a 10-fold reduction in the number of viable F. tularensis LVS compared to growth medium alone. Both concentrations of Resazurin sodium treatment resulted in a significant decrease in the survival of F. tularensis LVS bacteria within 22 hours[1]. |
