描述 | Oxibendazole (OBZ) is an anthelmintic drug that has also shown promise in the treatment of malignancies. The growth of the 22Rv1 and PC-3 cell lines, as assessed with a trypan blue exclusion assay, was markedly inhibited by OBZ treatment in vitro, with half-maximal inhibitory concentration values of 0.25 and 0.64 µM, respectively[3]. A paste formulation of oxibendazole at 10 mg/kg also eliminated ascarid eggs from feces of 12 suckling foals. Egg and larval count data on foals in both the critical tests and the clinical trials also indicated oxibendazole was active against Strongyloides westeri. Untoward effects of treatment with oxibendazole were not observed[4]. The pyrantel embonate/oxfendazole and ivermectin/ praziquantel/oxibendazole combinations demonstrated full efficacy against Parascaris spp[5]. The apoptotic effect of oxibendazole on pTr (porcine trophectoderm) and pLE (porcine luminal epithelial) cells is regulated by cell signaling pathways, and thus oxibendazole could influence the connection between the conceptus and the maternal uterus[6]. |
