描述 Tuberculosis (TB), a contagious and airborne disease caused by M. tuberculosis claims approximately 1.5 million deaths every year. Around one-third of world population is affected with M. tuberculosis because of the immune system response to mycobacteria in both symptomatic and asymptomatic forms. M. tuberculosis quickly develops resistance against canonical anti-TB drugs regimens, and if not treated adequately takes the form of MDR-TB (multidrug resistant TB) and XDR-TB (extensive-drug resistant TB)[2]. Ftaxilide is a novel antituberculosis agent.
