描述 Omeprazole (H 16868), a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), is employed in managing acid-related gastrointestinal conditions. It exhibits competitive inhibition of the CYP2C19 enzyme with a Ki ranging between 2 and 6 μM[1]. Additionally, omeprazole acts as an inhibitor against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria[2]. Omeprazole also functions as a potent inhibitor of neutral sphingomyelinase (N-SMase), a brain penetrant enzyme involved in exosome regulation[3].
