描述 | Esculin is a derivative of coumarin, which is also an active ingredient of ash bark, and has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy and skin protective effects [3]. Esculin significantly reduced the pathological symptoms of acute liver injury, as well as serum AST (Aspartate aminotransferase) and ALT (Alamine aminotransferase) levels. Furthermore, LPS/D-Gal-induced liver tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) production were attenuated by esculin[5]. Esculin (5, 10 or 20 mg/kg ) may ameliorate cognitive impairment in experimental DN (diabetic nephropathy), and exert anti-oxidative stress and anti-inflammatory effects[3]. |
