PPARγ (proliferator-activated receptor γ) is a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily; is a ligand-inducible transcription factor. It is critical in adipocyte differentiation, maintenance, and function. [1]. BADGE (Bisphenol A diglycidyl ether) is a ligand for PPARγ with Kd of 100mM. BADGE binds to PPARγ with an apparent Kd of 100 µM and interferes with the ability of 3T3-L1 and 3T3-F442A cells to undergo hormone-mediated cell differentiation[2].
