描述 | Cesium chloride is a blocker of potassium channel. Cesium Chloride (12 mg/100 g body weight, daily for 30 days; i.p.; male Wistar rats- BOO model) could significantly weaken the effect of XJT (traditional Chinese medicine) on not only the expression of these potassium channels but also the bladder weight, urodynamics, and oxidative stress[2]. Cesium chloride has primarily been used in cardiovascular research for arrhythmogenesis in animals because of its potassium-blocking effects[3]. In animal models, cesium chloride has induced cardiac arrhythmias, including torsade de pointes. It inhibits delayed rectifier potassium channels in the myocardium, causing delayed repolarization and QT-interval prolongation[4]. The number of the cells was decreased by application of 1-10 mM cesium in a dose-dependent manner, whereas the viability of the cells was unchanged. Cesium inhibits the proliferation and migration of fibroblast cells[5]. Cesium chloride (CsCl) decreases the increment of membrane potential, the elevation of intracellular calcium and the upregulation of NOS, ET-1 and VEGF expressions, which are induced by Acrolein[6]. |
