描述 | Tylosin, an antibiotic used for maintaining livestock health, is a macrolide structurally similar to a number of important, often prescribed human antibiotics[3]. Tylosin has antibacterial activity against S.suis CVCC606 in Mueller Hinton (MH) broth and serum. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) were 0.25 μg/mL, and the minimal bactericidal concentrations (MBC) were 1 μg/mL in MH (Mueller Hinton) broth and serum. A dosage regimen of 5.32 - 19.50 mg/kg b.w. every 24 h should be sufficient for tylosin against S.suis in pigs[4]. Moreover, Tylosin causes fecal dysbiosis in healthy dogs with corresponding shifts in fecal UBAs (unconjugated bile acids). Changes did not uniformly resolve after discontinuation of tylosin[5]. |
