描述 Skimmianin, a natural product isolated and purified from the herbs of Skimmia japonica, is an inhibitor against the Leishmania APRT enzyme and a strong acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor, and has a selective inhibitory effect on the 5-hydroxytryptamine-induced vasopressor responses of rats. Skimmianine also has anti-inflammatory and leishmanicidal effect, thus it is a promising drug candidate for L. braziliensis due to its potent immunomodulatory activity.
