描述 DEPC is used to inactivate RNase enzymes. DEPC-treated water at concentration of 0.1% is used in handling of RNA in the laboratory to reduce the risk of RNA being degraded by RNases. DEPC is sensitive to moisture, pH and ammonia. It decomposes at 155°C, to ethanol and carbon dioxide in aqueous solution.
