描述 | Aldose Reductase (AR) is responsible for formation of a toxic metabolite of galactose, called galactitol, which has been shown to be responsible for many of the long-term complications in Galactosemia[1]. AT-007 is an orally active central nervous system (CNS) penetrant AR inhibitor for treatment of Galactosemia with an IC50 value of 100 pM. AT-007 reduces toxic galactitol levels and prevents disease complications in an animal model of Galactosemia[1]. |
