描述 Gap 26 is a connexin mimetic peptide, working as a Gap junction blocker. Gap26 inhibited electrical coupling in cell pairs mediated by gap junctions after exposure for 30 min, but inhibited hemichannel currents evoked in low Ca2+ solution with a response time of less than 5 min when applied to single cells. Gap 26 reduced the size of InsP3-triggered intercellular calcium waves at concentration of 0.25mg/ml post 30 minutes in RBE4 cells, blocked Photoliberating InsP3 triggered ATP release, but did not inhibit the gap junctional coupling between the cells.
作用机制 Gap 26 is a connexin mimetic peptide corresponding to short conserved extracellular loop sequences of connexins as reversible inhibitor of gap junctional intercellular communication.[1]
